North End Rides Before Dark (NERDS)
20-30 mile early evening rides from April through September, departing from the Edmonds Park & Ride, exploring western Snohomish County and northern King County.
Our Monday evening rides depart from Woodland Park in North Seattle April through September. We offer multiple paces, and routes frequently intersect so pace groups often see each other along the way. Don't forget to wave! We plan our rides to finish within the limits of available sunlight from early spring to late summer. Come join us!
Cycle the Gap (CTG) is a five-week series of rides to help folks get in shape for Cascade's Ride from Seattle to Vancouver and Party (RSVP) and other late summer events. CTG runs for five Saturdays, the first being Saturday after the Seattle to Portland Ride and the final ride the week before RSVP. CTG is designed to help maintain endurance and strength. The rides will incrementally increase in distance and elevation gain starting at around 40 miles and concluding with an 80-mile ride.
Heading out of Matthews Beach Park in North Seattle, this weekly ride is affectionately known as "The Pie Ride". The route is an easy trek along the Burke-Gilman trail to the Bothell Senior Center, where riders enjoy homemade pie and fun conversation prior to return.
Eastside Hills rides are challenging, hilly rides intended to help strong riders maintain and improve their fitness. The rides are generally 50 - 60 miles with 3000 - 4000' of climbing, and they follow a variety of routes east of Lake Washington starting from the Kirkland Transit Center. Eastside Hills rides are offered year-round, usually at a Brisk pace but occasionally Vigorous or faster.
MUMPS rides out of Log Boom Park in Kenmore on Monday mornings, year 'round. During the rainy season, we ride a collection Lake Washington loop (and upper loop) variations which provide shortcut options in case of rain. For the drier months we also venture out for open-country rides. We offer steady, moderate and brisk pace rides, depending on ride leader availability. Rides are typically 26-50 miles with frequent regroups and rest stops.
Another cycling season draws to a close; now what? Coffee time! Continue to enjoy the excitement of regular weekend riding even as the weather gets cooler on these fun and social group rides. Join us for seven rides in seven weeks on the Eastside. We ride to a different coffee shop each time, alternating starts between Bellevue one week and Woodinville or Redmond the next. This series will help you qualify for your highly sought after Coffeeneuring patch. Let's relax and get a cup of coffee after training hard all season. We offer Moderate and Brisk paces. CAFES rides in the fall.
With a team of ride leaders, we offer rides all around the Seattle metro area and a variety of challenge levels in the steady-to-moderate, 30-50 mile range. We usually stop for coffee and/or food, either a café or BYO picnic. FRUMPS rides year-round. Come join us, underemployed or not!
