• With nearly 20 miles of protected bicycle lanes added in recent years, it's a great time to go for a ride and explore Seattle by bike.

• King County Parks Levy includes $182 million for Eastrail, the Lake to Sound, Green River, Interurban, Soos Creek, and other regional trails.
• Voters who support a safe, connected bike network across King County should vote YES for the Parks Levy on August ballots.

• The League of American Bicyclists has named Executive Director Lee Lambert Bike Advocate of the Year.
• Lambert accepted the award at the National Bike Summit in Washington, DC, where Cascade staff visited Capitol Hill to speak up for federal bike funding.
• The trip coincided with a federal directive to halt federal grants for bike lanes. 
   

• Seattle’s network of protected bike routes is rapidly expanding in early 2025.
• Join us on a photo journey of new and coming bike infrastructure in Eastlake, Montlake, Beacon Hill, SODO, Downtown, and the Waterfront. 
   

• Whidbey Island offers abundant scenic bike routes, bountiful community farms, and a growing bike advocacy movement.
• We spent a weekend on Whidbey biking its rural roads and lodging at the Organic Farm School, which is reviving the art of sustainable community farming. 
• Book a farmstay, support BikeWhidbey’s advocacy, and learn about the effort to create a 50-mile bike trail.

• Cascade Ride Leader Steve Hulsman died after being struck by an SUV in West Seattle on Dec. 21.
• His widow, Rita Hulsman, urges Seattle residents to vote YES on the Keep Seattle Moving levy to prevent future deaths.

• Two hundred people including 52 speakers attended our 2024 Bike, Walk, Roll Summit in Tacoma from Sept. 11-13.
• From cycle highways to complete streets to community bike rides, the Summit was a forum for sharing best practices and collaborating for solutions.
