New Volunteers
Get a peek behind the scenes and see how Cascade works!

We're excited that you're considering volunteering with us! Volunteers support all aspects of Cascade's event production, outreach, and education programs — none of which would be possible without individuals like you. To get started: create your account, browse open positions, and (optionally) meet with a member of our team to match open opportunities to your interests. Don't forget to check out the perks of being a volunteer, like free Cascade memberships, free ride registrations, and more!
What might you do as a volunteer?
- Start line support: hand out rider bibs, answer rider questions, thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Finish line support: hand out souvenirs, dish out food, ring some cowbell!
- Rest stop support: slather together PB&J sandwiches, stock snack bins, keep the gatorade flowing
- Support call ops: triage rider distress calls, gather relevant info, dispatch vehicles to assist on scene
Await dispatch calls from the Support Call Ops volunteers and drive to riders along the course requiring minor mechanical or medical support. You might also patrol small sections of the route or direct riders at particularly tricky intersections.
Not interested in crowds? Maybe you want to ride the ride but still want to support the event? Stuff rider packets in the evening with bibs, maps, and other goodies while enjoying the company of a dozen other volunteers. Dinner is always provided!
One of the most impactful ways to volunteer at Cascade. Depending on the day, you'll be rescuing food from our grocery store partners and bringing them to food banks, delivering pre-sorted bags to designated families, or transporting groceries to the Food Not Bombs pop-up in SoDo.
- Let's Go (grades 3-5): deliver bikes with our fleet team and occasionally assist with helmet fittings and corralling younglings during bike-centric PE classes.
- MTP club (grades 6-12): attend afterschool programs in S. King County, assisting with teaching classes on bike safety/maintenance, group riding, and serve as a mentor for underrepresented youth.
- Bike build/maintenance party: wrench on bikes at the Cascade office both building and maintaining fleets for our various education programs.
- Outreach Ambassador: once you've got some experience under your belt, represent Cascade at various community events like transportation fairs, Bike Everywhere Day, farmers markets and more! Share your love of volunteering and knowledge of Cascade's programs with others.
- Bike lane cleanup: held in the Fall, we'll descend on high-traffic areas in Capitol Hill to clear leaves and debris from separated bike lanes. Then we'll toast our hard work afterwards at a local brewery while we dry off from the inevitably wet weather.
- Event photographer: come join us at our major rides and tell the story of the event through photos. Amateur experience and personal equipment is required.
- Graphic designer: use your creative talents to design various logos, promotional materials, and graphics both in digital and print media.
