Brook Negussie first got involved in cycling through our Major Taylor Project.
Now a freshman at the University of Washington in Seattle, 18 year-old Brook is studying computer engineering and says he is a "a role model for people who want to exercise, but [who] don't have time."

As interim trail construction wraps up along the Cross Kirkland Corridor this month, the city of Kirkland and Eastside bicyclists are relieved to know that the 5.75-mile multi-use trail is no longer under threat of being converted back to a railway.

Heads up as you pedal through UW campus: beginning Saturday, Jan. 17, the Burke-Gilman Trail will detour between Latona Avenue NE in Wallingford and Adams Lane near the University Bridge.

Seattle is the nation’s fastest growing “big” city. This means a lot of us are “newbies” and have a lot to learn. As I navigate Seattle’s roads by bike, foot, car and transit, I have a lot of questions. And I imagine my fellow newbies out there probably do, too. I will share them here with you.

We believe that all neighborhoods across Seattle should be connected by safe, comfortable bikeways for all people to ride.
Roosevelt Way isn't safe for very many people, whether they're biking, walking or driving.

I wake up for the morning commute,
slowly coming to the realization that it’s winter in Seattle.
Layering myself in thoughts and clothing,
I pick up my bike and head out the door.
