Cycle the Gap (CTG) is a five-week series of rides to help folks get in shape for Cascade's Ride from Seattle to Vancouver and Party (RSVP) and other late summer events. CTG runs for five Saturdays, the first being Saturday after the Seattle to Portland Ride and the final ride the week before RSVP. CTG is designed to help maintain endurance and strength. The rides will incrementally increase in distance and elevation gain starting at around 40 miles and concluding with an 80-mile ride.
Heading out of Matthews Beach Park in North Seattle, this weekly ride is affectionately known as "The Pie Ride". The route is an easy trek along the Burke-Gilman trail to the Bothell Senior Center, where riders enjoy homemade pie and fun conversation prior to return.
Eastside Hills rides are challenging, hilly rides intended to help strong riders maintain and improve their fitness. The rides are generally 50 - 60 miles with 3000 - 4000' of climbing, and they follow a variety of routes east of Lake Washington starting from the Kirkland Transit Center. Eastside Hills rides are offered year-round, usually at a Brisk pace but occasionally Vigorous or faster.
