The Washington Bike Walk Roll Summit takes place Sept. 12-13, 2024
After several years of virtual summit offerings, we are excited to return to an in-person Summit this year. Join us in Tacoma, WA from September 12 to 13.
Registration closes Friday, Sept. 6 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. Registration is available online only. Check out the tabs at the top of this page for the program and Keynote Speakers.
Overview
Our Summit theme this year is “Safe Streets for Everybody.” Safety is the number one barrier to more people walking and biking and is an important lens to view street improvements through. Between policies like Vision Zero, the Safe Systems Approach, and new funding from federal and state governments, how we create safe streets is rapidly evolving and ripe for exploration over our two-day summit.
Attend to tap into new best practice guidelines, learn new resources on available funding, and hear from peers about how communities in Washington and beyond are centering safety outcomes to build safe and accessible communities for everyone who bikes, walks, and rolls. Register for the summit and be inspired with us!
What is the Summit and Who Attends?
The Bike, Walk, Roll Summit is a two-day event that brings together people from all around Washington who are engaged in making our state one of the top bike, walk, and roll friendly states in the nation. During the Summit, we host mobile workshops, panels, experiential learning forums, and collaborative spaces for people who want to see biking, walking, and rolling as an accessible, safe way to get around our communities. The content is intended to inspire, educate, and inform elected officials, community advocates, planners and engineers, and more!
Inclusion
Everyone is welcome at Cascade Bicycle Club and WA Bikes events. We are committed to celebrating and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the bicycling community. We aim to provide safe spaces at all of our events. Read our commitment to anti-racism and our participant code of conduct and grievance policy.
We would like to acknowledge that the Summit takes place on the ancestral lands of the Puyallup Tribe. The Puyallup people have lived on this land since the beginning of time, and continue to do so today. Our offices are located on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People past and present. We recognize this land acknowledgment is one small step toward true allyship and we commit to uplifting the voices, experiences, and histories of Indigenous people.
Accessibility at the Event
UW Tacoma offers a range of services, information, and support for disability-specific needs. Health and Safety
COVID-19 continues to spread in our communities and put people at risk of illness. We strongly recommend that attendees be vaccinated for COVID-19 in advance of the Summit, and wearing masks while in the meeting spaces is encouraged. We reserve the right to enact stricter protocols should they be warranted by public health circumstances closer to the meeting.
We encourage each attendee to carefully assess their symptoms each morning before coming to the meeting space. If you are sick and/or have symptoms of illness or COVID, we ask that you refrain from coming to Summit events. If you test positive for COVID while onsite at the event, please stay in your hotel room and contact your healthcare provider.

We are actively seeking sponsors for the 2024 Summit! If you would like to learn more about sponsoring the Summit please contact Alison Driver, Director of Development, at alisond @ cascade dot org.
