Transportation

The Ride from Seattle to Vancouver, B.C. & Party is a one-way ride from Seattle, WA to Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Every rider needs a plan for getting to the start line on Saturday morning. Once at the finish line in Vancouver, B.C., there are some options to help you and your bike get back to the Seattle start line at the University of Washington.

IMPORTANT:  Customs information required

If you are using the return transportation service, you must include your bike make, model, and serial number when purchasing transportation. This is required by United States Customs. In addition, you must be sure your bicycle rider number placard is affixed to your bike for identification when you retrieve it.

To update this information, please email info@cascade.org. Include your name, bib number, and bike serial number information and we will update your registration.

Parking at the Start Line

If you're driving to the start line, you can park your vehicle in the E-18 parking lot at UW. The lot opens Saturday and closes on Monday.

Purchase your parking pass in advance online, on Friday before the ride at Cascade Bicycle Club, or at the Saturday start line.

When should I load my bike? On Sunday, as soon as possible at the finish line to avoid transportation delays. If you get onto the standby list and it turns out we have space for you, you will also load your bike on Sunday. Bike loading is only available on Sunday; there is no Monday loading.

What do I need to pick up my bike in Seattle? Leave your bike number affixed to your bike; you or someone with your rider bib number (or picture of it) will need this to pick it up in Seattle.

How do I get onto the standby list for the combo bus and bike truck service? Once you cross the finish line, check in at the green Cascade tent and ask to be placed on the standby list. Check back at 6:15 p.m., when we'll know for certain how many spaces we have available. If there's space for you, you'll pay in cash ($100 USD) and immediately load your bike on Sunday. You'll get a ticket for the Monday morning buses. Note the times above and don't be late!

What Terrain Means

Terrain indicates the most common or average terrain type of the ride and should be considered relative to the length and overall difficulty of the ride. For example, a long-distance ride with a lot of elevation gain will be overall less challenging than a short ride with equal elevation gain. Consider the pace and frequency of regroup as well to understand how advanced a ride may be.

  • Mostly flat: Trails and/or mostly flat roads with a possible gentle uphill
  • Rolling: Climbs are short and easy, not too numerous
  • Some hills: A few short, steep hills, some moderate upgrades and/or longer gentle climbs
  • Hilly: Consistent or continuous climbing
  • Off-road: Significant unpaved sections
