  • One bag per rider.
  • All baggage loads onto the same truck. Bags are sorted by bag color, so consider using a non-black bag for easier pickup.
  • Cascade Bicycle Club is not responsible for any damaged, lost, or stolen luggage. Do not pack valuables.
  • Waterproof bags are recommended or pack your belongings in plastic bags for protection from possible rain. The PNW always has a 30% chance of rain!
  • Panniers and backpacks work great if you will be transporting your bag to a different hotel by bike. Pack light!

Border Crossing Guidelines

  • Fill out and attach bag tag / waiver (in your rider packet) to your bag. This is required by customs. Spare forms available at start line. All bags must have a signed bag tag/waiver attached to the bag tag to be accepted onto the luggage truck.
  • On day two, be sure your passport is on your bike NOT in your bag for the border crossing.

Baggage Drop-Off Options

Friday

Cascade Bicycle Club at Magnuson Park in Seattle (directions)

NOTE: Friday bag drop-off is only for riders who do NOT plan to use the shuttle service provided by the high school band. See details for Saturday morning further below.

Support their band program and take a load off your shoulders.

Transportation for Bike Boxes

This service is for riders who are either flying out of Vancouver, BC, or who are using Amtrak. Amtrak trains have a limited amount of roll-on bike spaces, but you can check a boxed bike as baggage. See Amtrak Cascades for more information.

  • We do NOT sell bike boxes. You MUST bring your own.
  • Cost: $20 - bike box is transported to the day 2 finish line at David Lam Park.
  • Purchase during or after registration; see add-on insructions.
  • Limited space. Please arrange this in advance. Sorry, we cannot accomodate exceptions due to limited space.

If you already purchased this at the start line, Bellingham High School's band program students will shuttle your bags to your Bellingham hotel, if you're staying at select Bellingham hotels on our list.

  • If you have arranged for the VIP shuttle service, set your bags to the where you picked them up by 6:30 a.m. They will be transported to the bag truck to bring to the finish line at David Lam Park in Vancouver, BC.
  • Please inform the shuttle service if you will not be dropping your bags with them on Sunday.

What Terrain Means

Terrain indicates the most common or average terrain type of the ride and should be considered relative to the length and overall difficulty of the ride. For example, a long-distance ride with a lot of elevation gain will be overall less challenging than a short ride with equal elevation gain. Consider the pace and frequency of regroup as well to understand how advanced a ride may be.

  • Mostly flat: Trails and/or mostly flat roads with a possible gentle uphill
  • Rolling: Climbs are short and easy, not too numerous
  • Some hills: A few short, steep hills, some moderate upgrades and/or longer gentle climbs
  • Hilly: Consistent or continuous climbing
  • Off-road: Significant unpaved sections
