Kitsap Color Classic

Event Description

Autumn has arrived. The fall morning air is crisp and the leaves are turning shades of gold, amber-orange, and scarlet. It's the last major ride of the Cascade season, and we couldn't be more excited to share it with you! We present the 31st annual Kitsap Color Classic, our season finale. Pedal along the gorgeous Kitsap Peninsula and through some of the best riding country in the state! Friendly communities, delicious bakeries, and terrific fall scenery make this a fun, annual must-do event. 

This event is a fundraiser for Cascade Bicycle Club's programming in advocacy, education, and community rides, such as sliding scale bike maintenance and riding classes and the Pedaling Relief Project.

Registration

Registration opens on Tuesday, May 6. Register by September 22 and save $15!

Registration closes on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 11:59 p.m.

Register by September 22, 2025 and we'll mail your rider packet to you. Register after September 22 and your rider packet will be available for pickup at the start line you designated.

Route

We're excited to add a new start and finish line area in Kingston at the Kiwanis Park.

We encourage you to wait until the day before the event to download these maps to your preferred device for easy access on the day of the event. 

Printed cue sheets are available at the start line tents. The route is marked with navigational markings on the road surface.

Event Schedule

Ferries

If you select Edmonds as your start line, you will have your ferry fare included in their registration fee. Your rider bib acts as your pass on the ferry. 

Ferries from Edmonds to Kingston depart from Edmonds Ferry Terminal. Official ferry times are: 8:50 a.m., 9:35 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. only. You may return to Edmonds on any ferry on the day of the event.

Inclusion

We would like to acknowledge that our rides take place on native land. Our offices are located on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People past and present.

Food & Breaks

There are three supported rest stops with light snacks to keep you rolling, but you may opt to support local businesses nearby.

Norwegian Point Rest Stop: You can refill your water and electrolyte bottles and enjoy light snacks that will power you for the second half of the ride. Fare includes energy bars, chips, nuts, and fruit. Gluten free and vegan snacks are available. 

Port Gamble Rest Stop: You can refill your water and electrolyte bottles and enjoy light snacks that will power you for the second half of the ride. Fare includes energy bars, chips, nuts, and fruit. Gluten free and vegan snacks are available. 

Poulsbo Rest Stop: You can refill your water and electrolyte bottles and enjoy light snacks that will power you for the second half of the ride. Fare includes energy bars, chips, nuts, and fruit. Gluten free and vegan snacks are available. Stop by for some treats from the famous Sluys Bakery.

Support During the Ride

This ride is supported by Cascade staff and volunteers, local community group volunteers.

Support and gear (SAG) vehicles are present on the route and dispatched when you call the ride support hotline. SAG vehicles can transport you and most models of bikes in the event of a mechanical or minor medical event. You should always call 911 in a life-threatening emergency.

Outriders are volunteers in white, green, and black jerseys that ride on the route, assisting you with minor mechanical and minor medical issues, like cuts and scrapes, dispensing advice and directions, and helping you to Ride S.M.A.R.T. 

Mechanics Night Owl Cycling are posted at the Kingston start line. Infinity Cyclery is along the route for the longest two options. They can assist with most common mechanical issues. 

Weather

Wear layers and be prepared for rain and wind. You might bring a change of clothes for the end of the ride so that you're not waiting for the ferry in wet clothing.

Get your bike tuned up and in shape to ride in slick, rainy, low-visibility conditions. Bring front and rear lights, install fenders, service your brakes, and clean your chain.

E-Bikes

E-bikes of all classes are permitted on this ride, as the route is entirely along public roads.
