FAQ
If you can't find the answer you're looking for below, please feel free to email us and we'll reach out as soon as possible. We hope to see you at a future class!
You can find the Refund Policy here or under the Class Info & Support heading in the main navigation menu. In a nutshell, refunds can be requested up to 5 days in advance of the class. After this, no refunds will be given within 5 days of the class for any reason.
Yes! Please review our Youth Attendance Policy before registering though. In some cases, you may be required to register each of you separately, stay with them during their class, or request a refund for their registration if the class content is not appropriate for their age.
No, with the exception of service animals. If you will have a service animal with you, please email adultclasses@cascade.org so that we can inform the instructors.
If you are bringing a service animal to a Learn to Ride, Basic Cycling Techniques, or Urban Cycling Techniques class, you will want to bring someone with you to stay with your service animal as you will be riding in an active parking lot and/or on multi-lane streets among traffic. Instructors cannot be responsible for service animals.
Yes! We have bikes to borrow for all of our classes with an array of sizes and features. We'll do our best to pair you with a bike that most closely matches what you have at home (if you have one), however our inventory is limited. We do not have any e-bikes to borrow. Please email adultclasses@cascade.org if you know you will need to borrow a bike so that we can let the instructors know.
Yes they do! If we only held classes in the sunshine, we'd never have outdoor sessions! We recommend (but do not require):
- A waterproof rain jacket or poncho
- Waterproof pants
- Warm gloves
- Wool socks
- Waterproof shoes (hiking boots or galoshes work great)
- Layer up shirts / pants
- Ear warmers / beanie
- Clear glasses or lightly tinted sunglasses to keep the rain out of your eyes
- Spare change of clothes for after your lesson. Private changing rooms are available for you to use.
Additionally, if you have a headlight and / or tail light for your bike, bring it along with you as there may be vehicles in the lot where you will be practicing. We will have a safety vest for you to optionally wear if the cloud cover makes conditions a bit dark.
We do our best to have classes posted one full month in advance, but there are occasionally times where we fall behind. If you don't see a class you're looking for, feel free to email adultclasses@cascade.org and we'll let you know if we have a planned class on the horizon.
We provide each student with an optional apron to wear during maintenance classes. Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting grease on, which can be very difficult to wash out. Disposable gloves will be provided. We recommend, but don't require closed-toed shoes.
You:
- Wear clothing that you don't mind getting stained / dirty and layer up if the weather is looking chilly or wet.
- Eat before class! We don't have snacks but we do have water.
- If you're taking a Learn to Ride / Further lesson, make a note of your instructor's phone number if you end up running late.
Your bike:
- Practice putting your bike on/in your vehicle (if you're driving).
- Lightly wash your bike and dry it completely. You don’t need to scrub it down, but removing caked on dirt and dusting out any cobwebs will ensure you have the best platform for learning. Use a light shower from a hose (not pressurized water) to rinse it and be sure to add chain lubricant afterwards.
Email adultclasses@cascade.org if:
- You're bring a service animal
- You need to borrow a bike
- You're registering a minor for a class
