A Soggy Good Time at Lake Union Family Ride

Washington State Leads Nation in Kids Bike Safety Education

  • It was a record year for youth bike safety education in Washington state.
  • More than 126,000 elementary and middle school students from 320 schools learned Let’s Go bike safety skills during the 2025-26 school year. 

Meet Kay, Cascade Bicycle Club member

  • Gen: Millennial
  • Residence: Bellevue, WA
  • Kay was introduced to Cascade in 2025 and completed both the Cascade Training Series (CTS) and STP (in two days) that year. She rode STP again in 2026 (this time, in one day!) and added Flying Wheels to her list of completed rides.
  • In Cascade, Kay's found new friendships and a sense of community, especially among strong women who share the same passion for exercise, self-improvement, and support for others.

  • In Part III of our series Put Your Phone Down and Go Ride we bike the Foothills National Recreation Trail with Cycling Over Sixty founder Tom Butler.
