Welcome to CTS ride # 10 - The CTS Century
This is one of our biggest rides of the season, and we’re excited to see you out on the road. As always, safety is our top priority — and that starts before we even get on our bikes.
We’ll be meeting at the Cascade Bicycle Club headquarters in Magnuson Park. Bathrooms and water will be available at the club before the start.
Be courteous to our neighbors at Magnuson Café and Brewery and Sail Sand Point by avoiding the parking spots directly in front of their buildings. There’s ample parking throughout Magnuson Park — a short spin to the start is a great way to wake up the legs.
A required safety briefing will begin promptly at 8:00 AM, with the first group rolling out immediately afterwards. Some subgroups may start a few minutes earlier this week, as ride leaders may opt to combine groups to help manage pacing and logistics. Check in with your ride leader and arrive early enough to be ready to go.
CTS Emergency Contact ID bracelets are required — if you don’t have yours, now’s the time to track it down.
We’ll depart from Magnuson Park and ride north and west through Wedgwood, then loop south through Ravenna, the Washington Park Arboretum, and Madison Park. From there, we follow the Lake Washington shoreline south to Renton, continue east along the Cedar River Trail, and then head north through Issaquah.
The route continues along the east side of Lake Sammamish to Redmond, climbs to Cottage Lake, loops through Trilogy, and returns to Redmond. From there, we head up to Woodinville and Bothell, then glide back to the club on the Burke-Gilman Trail — a well-earned stretch of familiar pavement.

Reminders
Nutrition: Fuel early and often. Eat something every hour starting with the first — aim for snacks that are easy to consume quickly during a 1-minute stop or while rolling. Avoid the dreaded bonk by staying ahead of your energy needs.
Hydration: Bring at least two full water bottles. Fill up at rest stops, and drink frequently. For longer efforts like this one, consider adding electrolytes to at least one bottle — they help replenish what your body loses on warm or intense rides. Some segments may go up to 25 miles between water stops, so be ready.
Weather: We always hope for ideal conditions — but this is the Pacific Northwest. Bring a rain jacket just in case, and if it rains and you don’t have long fenders, please be prepared to ride at the back of the group. If it’s hot, adjust your hydration accordingly.
General ride posting disclaimers
Route: Check on Friday before the ride and update your device if needed (or pin the route) Please note: If you check/update your version on Friday you should have the most current information.
Trails: Weekend trail sections — especially near parks — can get crowded. Most trails have a 15 mph speed limit, and in Renton, it drops to 10 mph. Let’s be respectful and follow all posted limits.
Cancellation policy: If the weather becomes unsafe or conditions are otherwise hazardous, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and notify all registered participants via email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours prior to the start, Ride Leaders will not be at the start location.
Please check your email the morning of the ride for any final updates. Route may be updated, as well as weather updates and cancellations.
