Join us for a ride from Bothell to Sultan and back on an 80 mile route!
We will be touring some beautiful rural areas of Snohomish County, including Snohomish, Sultan and Monroe! If you participated in the CTS #5, much of the route will seem familiar.
We will be starting from the Bothell Park and Ride, and the ride will commence at 08:00 a.m, with the required safety briefing. Please plan to arrive well enough in advance to be ready to ride prior to the SMART talk and safety briefing. I do ask that participants review the route map (linked) to be better familiar with the route and areas of concern. There are no restrooms at the Park and Ride. However, our first stop at Wilmot Gateway Park approximately 2 miles from the start, will have restrooms.
** PLEASE NOTE: Our lunch stop is at Osprey Park in Sultan. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH. ** There will be no opportunity to buy lunch.
Rest stops Include:
- MP 2.3 - Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville
- MP 9 - Maltby Community Park
- MP 24.2 - Lake Tye Park
- LUNCH- Bring Your Own Lunch - at Mile 35, Osprey Park in Sultan. This park has water. (water fountain and water in bathroom sinks and plenty of toilets.)
- MP 58 - Maltby Community Park
- MP 73 - Sixty Acres Park
Reminders, Notes and Cautions
Please remember to have your Road ID, as well as weather-appropriate attire. Attendance at the SMART talk/safety briefing is mandatory for participation in ALL Cascade Bicycle Club group rides, including the CTS.
Much of the ride in the rural areas are on 2-lane roads with either no shoulder, or less than 14 inches of shoulder. The Ride Leaders may choose to take the lane or break into smaller groups in some of these roads; plan for frequent pull-outs to allow drivers to pass.
It is important to hydrate prior to Saturday and drink often early in the ride whether it is hot or not. Foot down, bottle up! This works well for maintaining energy during the ride. Also be sure to have electrolytes in at least one of your bottles.
As noted earlier you will not have the opportunity to purchase lunch on this ride. PBJ is your friend and still tastes great even if it gets squished in your pocket. :-D I recommend cutting your protein bars into bite size pieces so you can grab a few quickly during the ride. Eating something small and often during the ride will do wonders for keeping up your energy during longer rides.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed under Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
What to Know Before You Go
- Advance registration required. Cancel if unable to attend, to open space for others.
- Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
