PLEASE NOTE: We have our first mid-ride lunch break this week. Expect a 25-minute stop in Issaquah at Starbucks/Safeway. They have outdoor seating and restrooms and water. Food and beverages available for purchase and/or of course feel free to bring your own.
This ride starts at the East Marymoor Lot in Redmond. There are no restrooms at the start, but we will stop briefly in Marymoor Park at the nearby Velodrome for restrooms and water. We'll ride through Marymoor Park, south on West Lake Sammamish Parkway, climb SE Newport Way and ride over Newport Hills to our first rest stop at Lake Boren Park (mile 20). We'll continue east on May Valley Road across the valley to Issaquah-Hobart Road and north into Issaquah for a rest stop at Starbucks and Safeway (mile 33). The route continues after lunch to the East Lake Sammamish Trail northbound to return to the start.
Let's meet at the East Marymoor Parking Lot and please be ready to ride at 9:00 a.m., arriving at least 30 minutes early so that you can get yourself and your bicycle prepared. We will start with a required safety briefing and ride announcements, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
If we have steady rain, or if there are any other hazardous or unforeseen conditions or events, the Ride Director will cancel the ride and send an email to all registered riders. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check this ride posting and your email before leaving for the ride.
Post-ride social: If folks want to gather after the ride, head over to Postdoc Brewing Company, across the street from our start/end, at 17625 NE 65th St, Redmond.
We look forward to riding with you!
