Join us for a ride from Woodinville on a 42 mile route at moderate pace (14-16 mph on flat terrain).
We will cycle on some back roads, some busier roads, climb up and over Redmond Ridge to Snoqualmie Valley. We'll ride for 9 miles on hard packed gravel Snoqualmie Valley Trail from Duvall to Carnation, (very rideable with a road bike) back up and over the ridge on Union Hill Road and then down the west side of the ridge back to Woodinville.
Let's meet at the parking lot for Casetta Lago Shopping Center (the Safeway at the intersection of Avondale and Woodinville-Duvall Road) and please be ready to ride at 10AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start (in the Safeway). We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 9 miles. We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at Starbucks in Carnation at about the halfway point.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
