Meet at the top of the parking garage. See the attached map.
Join us for North End Rides before Dark from the Lynnwood Transit Center. This week's route will be Cemetery. Please meet at the top floor of the new parking garage and be ready to ride at 6:00 pm. You can enter by turning left on 48th from 200th or off 44th just east of 200th. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that is done. If you miss the mandatory safety briefing, you will not be able to ride with the group. A picture of the transit center garage and access to it is attached below.
There are no restrooms at the start. There is a public restroom about a half mile west of the transit center at Scriber Lake Park should you need it prior to arriving for our safety briefing/ride start (may take you extra time routing around due to all the construction in the area).
We intend to keep the stated pace on the flats (higher on the downhills and slower on the uphills). Riders should take steeper climbs and descents at their own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at safe points after steeper sections of the route. If a rider is having an off day and can't keep up with the group, they will be encouraged to drop back and join a slower pace group or to finish the ride on their own. Also, we will limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
A properly fitting helmet, functional tail light, and a bright headlight are required as we may be getting back around/after sunset. It is recommended to bring water (there is none at the start), nutrition, and a jacket.
Please make sure your bike is in good working order. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat or other minor mechanical issues, and make sure you know how to use them (see the YouTube video in the link below on fixing flats). We may wait a short period of time if you can fix a mechanical quickly; however, for the safety of the group, we will likely have to keep moving so make sure you have the route and a cell phone to arrange a ride home if necessary.
Nobody likes to get sprayed with mud, so please have full fenders (with a buddy flap) if the roads are wet, or you will be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion, there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, or there are any other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
