Join us for a ride from Delridge Community Center on an 8.6 mile route at Leisurely (10-12 mph) pace.
Let's explore the parks and public art in Delridge. We'll ride along the dell to the ridge and back, stopping to see a giant dragonfly, sculptures and murals, and an upside-down view through a camera obscura. The ride has a long fairly gentle climb going south to White Center, and a couple of steepish downhills on the way back, but we will take it easy. The route includes short stretches of packed gravel trail; quiet neighborhood greenway streets; and West Seattle's newest protected bike lane on Delridge Way.
Meet at the Delridge Community Center entry plaza. Please be ready to ride at 9:30am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We welcome people of all ages, languages, ethnicity, genders, and abilities (ALEGRA).
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace. Our goal will be to stay together. We will regroup when needed after hills and if the group gets split at intersections.
Restrooms (at least a porta-potty) are available at the start. There are no public restrooms along the route. Bring water and a snack if you think you will need it.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Check your brakes and tires in advance.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
