KEEPING RIDERS SAFE
- Advance registration required. If you decide not to ride, please click Cancel My Registration below to open space for others. (How to cancel)
- Attendance at the pre-ride safety briefing is required to participate in the ride.
- All participants must follow Wash. state guidance on masking, distancing and vaccination for indoor and outdoor activities.
- If you have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, follow the CDC quarantine and isolation guidelines. In general, if you have COVID or are displaying COVID symptoms, you should not participate in group rides.
- Some rides stop at indoor venues. All riders should have face coverings available in case a business or public transit requires their use.
- A CPSC certified helmet is required to be worn to participate.

Another chance to light up our bikes, our helmets and ourselves and check out lights - this time at Tacoma's Light Trail !
This will be a fun, social ride. We will make our best effort to stay together--should we get spaced out we will slow or stop until everyone catches up. There are a few climbs and descents but the loop is only four and a half miles long - with stops for admiring and photographing displays.
We'll start with introductions and safety briefing at 4:45pm in the Plaza in front of the Tacoma Dome Parking Structure on East 25th Street. Both the Sounder and Sound Transit ST Express 590/594 routes serve Tacoma Dome Station. Parking at the station is free - the spots that don't have time limits tend to fill with commuters, but there are usually spaces available in time limited spots. The official ride will end at Tollefson Plaza where a live performance is scheduled for 6pm.The route that the group will take is linked below and there is also a route showing a direct, one mile path from the plaza back to Tacoma Dome station.
Helmets are required! White front headlight and red rear tail light are also required for this ride. Other lights are strongly encouraged ! Please make sure that any decorations added to your set-up do not hinder the safe operation of your bike. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet (or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group).
Other items to bring: ID, a charged cell phone, water, a face covering, cash/credit card, a small snack, kleenex, wipes and hand sanitizer.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the ride will be canceled at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.

I checked before I left for the ride and had one person still signed up. I had a beautiful 12 plus mile ride to the start and then caught up on returning messages on my phone while waiting a bit for the rider. I then called her and got her voicemail. I left her a message telling her I was leaving the start and I hope I made it clear that it was okay that her plans changed and that I hoped she was okay and was not lost looking for me somewhere. Had a lovely ride home as well, but did not do my 5 mile social ride solo.
