TREATS: Sixty Acres to Eastern Forests
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Join us for a ride from Sixty Acres Park in Redmond on a 32-mile route at a Steady pace (12-14 mph). We'll take the Sammamish River Trail to the Wooodinville Tourist District, then warm up climbing Hollywood Hill. We’ll then wander through the eastern Woodinville and Redmond woods to lunch at QFC Novelty Hill. Then it’s through Redmond Ridge down to Marymoor Park for a flat ride on the Trail back to the start.
Let’s meet in the parking lot at the far southeast corner of Sixty Acres Park (not to be confused with the much smaller lot near the Sammamish River Trail). Please be ready to ride at 10:00 a.m. when we’ll start with the required safety briefing. If you miss the briefing, you will not be able to ride with the group.
We’ll climb and descend hills at our own pace, and regroup frequently, at tops of hills and turns. A downloadable route map for GPS devices and a cue sheet are at the link, below. If you need a cue sheet, please print one. Electric-assist bikes are welcome.
Sanicans are available at the start, and more sophisticated facilities with running water are near the Park's entrance to the Sammamish River Trail. There will be no other restroom opportunities until our 30-minute lunch stop at Mile 17.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader(s) will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start, and Ride Leader(s) may not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
