Eastside Hills #18 Second Try

Last week we posted this route and ended up cutting it short because of the rain.  Let's see if we can catch a break in the weather this time and finish this a doozy of a ride!   

Join us for a ride from Kirkland Transit Center (between the Library and the park) on a 50 mile route at vigorous pace - 20mph on the flats.

This week's route includes many challenging hills in Kirkland, Redmond, and Woodinville including Rose Hill, Education Hill, Hollywood Hill, and others.  The route is designed to stay close to the start so that we have the option of going back if the weather gets too bad.

Let's meet at the Kirkland Transit Center and please be ready to ride at 9:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at the top of sustained climbs. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water/food at mile 26 at Haggen Market in Woodinville.  

Bring a spare tube (or two!) and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If there is steady rain or unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.  During the ride we will tolerate light rain or brief showers, but if we encounter heavy rain we may return early.
