Matthews Beach to Bothell - Pie/Bakery Ride

Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please click the red "Cancel My Registration" button above so that an additional spot will be made available to another.

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and/or tissues for use at rest stops as needed.

We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12 ft separation between riders when on the bike.

PIE RIDE:  We will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail to the Hillcrest Bakery, just beyond Blyth Park, in downtown Bothell. We then take a pie, brownie, doughnut, cheesecake or cookie break at the bakery.  The Countryside Doughnut shop is also another location about 1/2 block east on Main Street if you prefer an alternative.  Both locations serve coffee. We will be there for about 30 minutes and then return to Matthews Beach. Helmets and a functioning bicycle are required. 

Route:  Come, have fun, and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman Trail.  The terrain is flat. 

Cue sheets:  No cue sheets provided. Stay together ride. 

Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry or be the caboose.

Ride start: Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the liability waiver and hear the safety briefing. Water and restrooms are available at the start.  Be prepared if you have a mechanical problems, including flat tires.

Register: Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of this page (right below the ride title) and enter your information. If you cannot make the ride, please cancel your registration so a spot can be freed up for someone else.

Parking:  Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. Arrive early to beat the seagulls for a good spot.

Weather cancellation: - Steady showers or more severe weather will cancel the ride.  Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments section at least two hours before start time and the ride leader(s) will not be at the start.
