KEEPING RIDERS SAFE
- Advance registration required for all participants. If you decide not to ride, please click Cancel My Registration below to open space for others. (How to cancel)
- Attendance at the pre-ride safety briefing is required to participate in the ride.
- If you have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, follow the quarantine and isolation guidelines. In general, if you have COVID or are displaying COVID symptoms, or if you are sick with the flu or a cold, you should not participate in group rides.
- Carry a face covering in case a business or public transit requires their use.
- Please, no spitting or “snot-rockets” while participating.
- A CPSC certified helmet is required to be worn to participate.
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.
Join me for a ride from Willis Tucker Park through some neighborhoods on our way to Mill Creek Town Center. The ride will then continue through Mill Creek, past Silver Lake, and head back to Willis Tucker Park. The pace for this ride is moderate (14mph to 16mph on the flats). The terrain is rolling and there are a few steep but short climbs. There are no restrooms at the start. At mile 14, there will be a short restroom stop at Mill Creek Sports Field.
Expectations (important, please read!): Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the ride to participate in the safety briefing. Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group and bring a charged cellphone if possible. We will regroup occasionally and at major turns. Steady rain and other adverse conditions will cancel the ride. If the ride is canceled, it will be posted by 7:30 am in the comment section and the ride leader will not be at the start. If weather conditions are adverse at start time the ride may be canceled and if weather conditions change during the ride, the ride leader may shorten the route.
The club has issued new guidelines related to COVID-19 at the link above. Please do not plan to ride if you have a fever, cough, difficulty breathing or cold or flu-like symptoms, or have other risk factors.
NOTE - We will be following COVID-19 social distancing practices, and I will ask all riders to stay at least 10 to 12 feet apart when riding and at least 6 feet apart when stopped. Since I am in the high risk category (due to age), I will ask all riders to stay behind me throughout the ride and will encourage you to wear your face coverings.
I would highly recommend all riders carry hand sanitizer or wipes at all times and use as appropriate.
Below you will find links to the route.
