Join us for a leisurely social roll along Alki to catch the last of the fall leaves with stops at some famous vista points along the way. To shake things up a bit, we'll do a short stretch of smooth gravel/dirt along the waterfront down to the ferry terminal (regular bike tires are fine) before heading back to town for Pie a la Mode. A final swoop back down to the waterfront will take us to one last city vista at the finish. This ride involves some gradual but steady hills from miles 7 to 12.
Pace: This is a leisurely paced ride; 10 -12 mph on flats with no wind, and your own pace uphill.
Check in: Please check in by 9:50 a.m. so we can do a quick safety briefing before the 10:00 a.m. departure.
Bring: Suggesting bringing some money for food and a chain/lock for securing your bike during the pie stop. Please note that the waterfront is sometimes foggy in the morning, so dress accordingly.
Route: The planned route/cue sheet is at the link below. It will not be handed out at the start, so please download or print it if you want it during the ride. The goal is to stay together. but please bring navigation aids in case you need to finish on your own. The ride becomes self-led for those ahead of or behind the group.
Restrooms & Food: There are restrooms at the start/finish and food for purchase at mile 12 (Pie a la Mode / Starbucks).
Repairs: Please come with the equipment and know-how to take care of your own flats and mechanicals or with a plan for getting back to the start if your bike won't take you there.
Registration: Please RSVP by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page. Preregistration saves time at the start and allows us to contact you if there are changes. There is no need to cancel your reservation if you decide not to ride.
Cancellation: Forecasts for rain or unsafe riding conditions will be cause for cancellation, in which case the ride leader will not be at the start and the cancellation will be posted in the comments section at least 2 hours before the start.
Looking forward to riding with you!
