Scenic Country Loop Log Boom Park-Sultan
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
This enjoyable scenic country ride provides great conditioning and is a favorite of participants, with its mix of flats and hills. We ride on the Burke-Gilman trail and good roads, through Woodinville, Monroe and Sultan and return on an alternate route. See the attached photos on the link below.
Park: *Park on the shoulder of the road (there is plenty of space available) not in the parking lot, because there is now a 4 hour parking limit imposed by the city of Kenmore, and we will arrive after that time period.
Meet: in the Log Boom Park parking lot. I will have on a silver helmet, and Ride Leader Jersey and riding a black bike.
Departure: Plan: after everyone is signed in and we have held our SMART brief, we depart at 9:30 a.m.
Supplies: You will need to bring at least one full sized water bottle, which we will refill with Ice water at the Sultan Bakery. Bring a snack to eat while riding.
Bathrooms available at Log Boom Park, and we will make a bathroom stop at Lewis Street Park in Monroe on the Skykomish River at approximately 23 miles distance, and again at the half way point (about 31 miles) where we will stop at the Sultan Bakery for snacks, and beverages.
Please pre-register for the ride by clicking the red "Register Now" button above; this will expedite the sign up process and will list you on the signup sheet. You do not need to un-register if you cannot make the ride. Arrive early so that you and your bike are ready to ride, and we can finish the safety discussion and start riding by 9:30 a.m.

Climb the hills at your own pace and we will regroup at the top. The pace on level pavement is 16-18 mph with no wind, slower up hills, and faster down hills. We will limit speed to 15mph when on multi-use paths. For those who elect to go at a slower pace, the downloadable gps link of the route map and printable cue sheet allow you to ride independently. The route distance is approximately 65 miles, the actual distance may vary from that listed on the attached link.
In the event of steady rain I will not be coming to Logboom Park, and will post a cancellation notice in the Comments section below 2 hours prior to the ride start.
We hope you can join us.
