FRUMPS - Lake Wilderness - Green River Gorge

We start with descending curves to the Cedar River, then roll on rollers through the forest to Lake Francis Park for the first rest stop (mile 8). Next there is a straight one mile climb up 244th but we regroup at the top. We'll pass the newly refurbished Yellow Submarine, a Hobart landmark. The bucolic Rock Creek Natural Area is inspiring, and one of my favorite sections. We ride 0.4 miles on hard pack gravel (Lake Wilderness Trail) to avoid busy Hwy 169. Bring money for lunch at S'wiched (mile 20) [menu link below] or, if you prefer, there is a Starbucks in Safeway next door. After lunch we head east to Ravensdale then south through the forest to Cumberland. There is new pavement on the descent to the Green River Gorge where we stop for a photo op. A gradual 4 mile climb brings us to Black Diamond. The final rest stop is at Lake Sawyer Regional Park trail head (mile 39). Some rollers and a short 12% descent brings us back to the start.

Restrooms: At the start in the Lake Wilderness Lodge, Lake Francis Park (mile 8), S'wiched lunch stop (mile 20), Lake Sawyer Regional Park (mile 39).
RSVP: Click on the red "Register Now" button under the title above, then check the box for "Waiver Signature" and fill in the contact information. This will improve legibility and expedite sign-up at the start. Or, just come to the start and sign the hard-copy Liability Release there. There is no need to cancel if you sign up and decide not to ride.
Cancellation Policy: If weather conditions meet the "Showers cancel" criteria, a Ride Canceled note will be posted in the Comments below, at least 2 hours prior to the start and Ride Leader will not be at the start. If the weather looks questionable, please check here before leaving for the ride.
