My son is 14 and has a road bike.  Would it be OK for him to ride as well?  He has not been in a group ride but has done a lap around Lake Sammamish with me.  If he has problems, I am planning to stay with him.  Thank you for your consideration.

This is a fairly difficult ride with many turns, busy roads and some steep hills. The ride is more appropriate for an experienced cyclist. It might be better to give him group riding experience on a less complex and difficult ride.
