Ride Description:

Hilly tour designed for experienced riders features agricultural land, small towns, lakes and mountains. We start our ride along Puget Sound, head inland through farm country, then climb wooded countryside and down into Fairhaven for a food break. After our break we begin our second segment up Chuckanut Drive, then back to the finish.

Food break is at about mile 27, so bring snacks.

Pace is moderate, 14-16 MPH on flat, slower uphill and faster down.

PLEASE NOTE:  THIS RIDE IS DESIGNED FOR EXPERIENCED RIDERS. THERE ARE CHALLENGING HILLS, FEW SHOULDERS AND WE WILL REGROUP ONLY OCCASIONALLY.

Bring equipment and know-how to take care of your own flats and mechanicals or with a plan for getting back to the start if your bike won’t take you there. Ride becomes self-led for those ahead or behind the group.  We regroup only occasionally at turns

The starting point is Bayview State Park.  Meet at the LOWER  parking lot where there are porta style rest rooms, but no water.  Take the first left turn after entering the park and head down toward the beach. There is a $10 PARKING FEE  if you don’t have a DISCOVER PASS.

We plan to leave at 10:00, so please arrive 15 minutes early to set up your bike and hear ride details.

I will not be at the start if weather conditions aren’t suitable for riding (showers cancel), and I will post a notice in the Comments section at least 3 hours prior.
