Training for Spring # 8 E Lake Sammamish Bridge to Bridge Loop (Steady)
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
This is a 9-week progressive series intended to prepare us to start strong in our spring training rides. Optional social gatherings are available before and after the rides to meet and connect with Ride Leaders and fellow riders.
This week’s ride starts at the Peet’s Coffee in Redmond. We’ll head south along East Lake Sammamish then loop around the middle of Lake Washington via I-90 and SR-520 bridges. We’ll stop at QFC in Factoria and Marymoor Park for quick restroom breaks.
After the ride is finished, please feel free to join us at Flying Saucer Pizza (14712 NE 91st St, Redmond) for a bite to eat.
Rest Stop: QFC in Factoria MP 18.5 and Marymoor Park MP 42.2
Parking: Do not park in front of Peet’s Coffee or any other storefront. Park well out in the main parking lot, away from businesses or in the East Lake Sammamish Trailhead parking lot.
Restroom use at the start: Free porta-pots are located at the East Lake Sammamish Trailhead parking lot. Use of restrooms in stores or businesses requires a purchase.
Registration: Please register and sign the electronic waiver. This saves time at the start of the ride.
Weather: Please come with long fenders, including a buddy flap, if the roads are wet. The ride will be canceled with heavy rain, high winds, flooding, ice/snow or other unsafe riding conditions, and a cancellation comment will be posted here at least two hours before the start of the ride.
Mechanical issues: You should also be prepared to fix a flat tire, with tools, tubes and the ability to change the tire yourself. The group will generally not stop for repairs.
Note: Please show up to the ride start at least 20 minutes early, so we can discuss the safety briefing before starting the ride promptly at 10:00am.
