This enjoyable scenic country ride provides great conditioning and is a favorite of participants, with its mix of flats and hills. We ride on the Burke-Gilman trail and good roads, through Woodinville, Monroe and Sultan and return on an alternate route. See the attached photos on the link below. NOTE* PARK ON THE STREET (there is plenty of space available) not in the parking lot, because there is now a 4 hour parking limit imposed by the city of Kenmore, and we will arrive after that time period. We will meet in the Log Boom Park parking lot. I will have on a yellow jacket and silver helmet.
You will need to bring at least one full sized water bottle, which we can refill at the Sultan Bakery. Bring a snack to eat while riding. Bathrooms available at Log Boom Park, and we will make a bathroom stop at Lewis Street Park in Monroe on the Skykomish River at approximately 23 miles distance, and again at the half way point (about 31 miles) where we will stop at the Sultan Bakery for a snack and conversation.
Please register online for this ride and accept the wavier, this will expedite the sign up process and will list you on the signup sheet. Arrive early so that you and your bike is ready to ride, and we can finish the safety discussion and start riding by at least 845 AM. As with all Cascade Bicycle Club rides be prepared to fix your own flats, wear a well-fitting helmet, and no ear buds are allowed.
Climb the hills at your own pace and we will regroup at the top. The pace on level pavement is up to 16 mph on level ground with no wind, slower up hills, and faster down hills. For those that elect to go at a slower pace the downloadable gps link of the route map and printable cue sheet allow you to ride independently. The route distance is approximately 65 miles, the actual distance may vary from that listed on the attached link.
In the event of steady rain I will not be coming to Logboom Park, and will post a cancellation notice in the Comments section 2 hours prior to the ride start.
