This ride is for intermediate level or stronger MTB enthusiasts. This ride will begin at the Sunset Trailhead and follow the Issaquah Preston Trail to connect to the Grand Ridge Trail system. Riders will experience the challenging terrain of Grand Ridge on an out-and-back ride to Duthie Hill Park via the Water Tower Trail. The ride will regroup frequently, usually at the top of climbs. Grand Ridge is a cross country oriented trail system featuring steep climbs.
I've listed this climb as "Vigorous" because Grand Ridge climbs are pretty tough, but we will definitely not be averaging 18-20mph! In order to enjoy the ride, riders should possess good fitness and at least intermediate level mountain bike skills.
As a cycling coach who enjoys helping people improve their riding skills, I'll offer tips to anyone interested. After we return to the Sunset Trailhead, riders can choose to head home or grab a quick bite to eat at one of Issaquah's many restaurants in town -- the Issaquah Brewery and Sunset Ale House are favorites among the mountain biking community!
If there are showers in the area but it is not currently raining, the ride is cancelled. I may or may not be at the trailhead, depending on how the weather radar looks.

- Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
