Join us for a 16 mile, 1288' elevation gain as we bike through the neighborhoods of Queen Anne and Magnolia. Along the way, we will stop by a viewpoint on the east side of Queen Anne overlooking Lake Union, and ride to Kerry Park, Marshall Park, Ella Bailey Park, Lawson Park, and the South Ship Canal Trail. There will be one optional hill climb (W. Blaine) which is shown on the ridewithGPS route, but which can be skipped by those not wanting to climb one of the steepest streets in the city of Seattle. Those not wishing to do the optional hill will get a short rest break while the climb up Blaine is being done. We will re-group on the tops of all major hills. If we are making good time and if there is interest, we may do a stop at Molly Moon's in Queen Anne for ice cream along the way. After the ride, we'll head to the Nickerson Street Saloon for food, drinks and socializing for those interested.
Please make sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.
We should get back to Gas Works Park before sunset, but please have a head light and tail light for your bike just in case we don't make it back quite in time.
The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above. The ride leader will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information. If you have questions about the weather or air quality, please call (or email) before you leave for the ride.
