Join me on a ride through my hometown, Olympia, as we tour some of the beautiful trails and enjoy the sights in and around the state capital.  We'll head south via the Chehalis Western Trail, head east to climb Tumwater Hill (mile 12) and enjoy a beautiful view of the Capitol building, head out to the westside and visit The Evergreen State College (mile 20), ride along the shores of beautiful Capitol Lake, enjoy the views along the harbor in downtown Olympia (mile 36), head over to the famous San Francisco Street Bakery (mile 38) for a food stop, and finish out with rollers to the Boston Harbor area and Fish Trap Loop (mile 48) before returning via the Chehalis Western.

Parking and trail access is directly behind the Target store, on the Western edge of the parking lot.  There will be roughly 2500' of elevation with pitches up to 9%, along with shorter climbs and rollers.  Restrooms available less than one mile from the start and a few places along the route.

Please register for the ride using the red "Register Now" button at the top of this page.  Registration is not mandatory but it allows us to print the rider list beforehand and helps us save time at the ride start.  On-line registration closes the night before, and if you decide to ride after that we will have a waiver sheet for you to sign manually.

If you are a new rider, we are very happy to have you with us.  Please read the newcomer link at the top of the page, and keep in mind that a helmet is required on all Cascade rides.  Also, riders should be able to sustain the pace, carry nutrition/water, and have the know-how and equipment to fix a flat tire.  Everyone should carry a phone to call for assistance if needed. We will regroup after climbs and at major intersections.

Arrive at least 20 minutes early so that you can get yourself ready, sign the waiver, and listen to the S.M.A.R.T. briefing. This allows us to have an on-time departure.

A route map and cue sheet are at the Ride With GPS link, below.  If you want a cue sheet please print and bring it.  The ride leader will not have extra copies.

Cancellation Policy: If needed, a weather cancellation will be posted two hours prior in the Comments section, below, and the ride leader will not be at the start. Heavy showers, high winds, or unhealthy air quality will cancel.  Please check here before leaving for the ride.

For mentoring opportunity, please contact the Ride Leader at least 2 days in advance so that you have time to familiarize with the route.
