Lunch Run: Kenmore-Edmonds Short Loop
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
***NOTE: Later start than usual!***
Social lunch run to Edmonds. This is the abbreviated version of my Edmonds routes. There are still those pesky hills (it is Edmonds, afterall), but this ride is shorter and the hills aren't nearly as long. We'll ride out of Bothell Ski & Bike traveling from Kenmore through Lynnwood to Edmonds where we'll grab a snack & drink @ Red Twig Cafe. We'll try to keep the stop to no more than 20-30 minutes. On the return we'll be treated to the fun downhill run on Perkins as we head toward Lake Forest Park and Kenmore.
We'll maintain a moderate pace (14-16 mph) on the flats w/o the benefit or hindrance of wind, slower on the uphills, faster on the downhills. Ascents & descents will be ridden at one's own pace. This is a stay together ride, regrouping at the top and bottom of hills.
Riders should bring tools and knowledge to repair flats and minor mechanicals. Please have a backup plan (someone to call or an ORCA card) for any major mechanical that may occur. It happens!
While a food stop is planned, riders should carry ample hydration and a backup snack just in case of delays.
Fenders are appreciated unless it is bone dry on the roads. This is for the safety and comfort of your fellow riders as well as yourself. No fenders means you are happy to ride in the back.
Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to prepare yourself and your bike prior to the safety briefing. Ride rolls out promptly at 11:00.
Restrooms are available at the start.
Starting Location & Parking: Ride starts at Bothell Ski & Bike in Kenmore. Please park in the spaces on the west side of the lot so that we do not impede Bothell Bike's customers. If necessary, overflow parking is available across 522 along the side road (NE 175th St.), accessible from 68th Ave NE just west of Bothell Bike. A crosswalk for 522 is at the corner for safe access to Bothell Bike.
Registration:To save time at the start, please register for the ride by clicking on red Register Now button. There is no need to unregister should you find you are no longer able to ride.
Cancellation: Ride will be cancelled for steady rain, dangerous road surface such as frost or ice, or below freezing temperatures. Should weather conditions call for a cancellation day of ride, a cancellation notice will be posted two hours prior. If weather is questionable please check here before leaving for the start. Cancellations or changes will be posted in the comment section. Leader will not be at start if weather cancels prior to meeting time.
