This is a ride to say goodbye to our friend Wendy Nungesser.  She is leaving us for some new adventures where she can be close to her parents.  We wish her luck but she will be missed.  You don't have to know Wendy to ride with us.  She is an awesome person and ride leader and this may be your last chance to meet her.  So join us!  Afterwards will have a beer at the local Snoqualmie Brewery.

Registration: Please register for this ride in advance on the Cascade site, it is free and helps the registration process run smooth, ensures there is sufficient Ride Leader support. You can register now by selecting the Register Now  button at the top of this page, then follow the prompts. Online registrations are accepted until 6 PM  Saturday, August 11h. After that day and time, unregistered riders must sign up at the ride start in order to particiate on the ride.

Ride Start Details:  Please plan to arrive at least 20-30 minutes prior to the start time of 10:00 AM to get prepared, check in, register-if needed, and particpate in the route briefing and SMART talk  for an on-time departure. All riders are required to participate in the SMART/safety briefing in order to join the ride. Restrooms are available at the start. There is  plenty of parking, additional street parking is available nearby, if needed. Also, please note, cellphone coverage is spotty in the Middle Fork Valley section of this ride.

New to Cascade? If you are new rider to Cascade Free Group Rides, we welcome you!  Please be sure to go to the Cascade Bicycle Newcomers page to read important information, for a link to the site, see the links section at bottom left of this page. And, feel free to contact the Ride Leader with any questions prior to ride day.

Rider Requirements:

  • Be sure to print off and bring a cue sheet, if needed.
  • Ensure your bike is in good working order. Please do an ABC check prior to departure.
  • Be prepared for situations such as adverse weather conditions, mechanical problems and flats. Please be knowledgeable and equipped with tubes, pump, etc to handle flats or minor mechanicals.
  • A good headlight and taillight are highly recommended. We will be riding in wooded areas with lower light.
  • Helmets are required to ride. No exception.
  • It is recommended to carry two full water bottles, an electrolyte replacement, and nutrition for during the ride (Cliff Blocks, etc).

Regrouping/Club Riding: Club riding is about working together as a group, please do not surge past or pass the ride leader. However, faster riders are welcome to leave the ride to ride independently or join a faster pace group.  We regroup at the top of hills and at major turns for a reasonable amount of time. If you are unable to continue or keep up, the Rider Leader will check with you to make sure you have a cue sheet and are able to manage riding independently.

Cancellation: Steady Rain or otherwise unsafe riding conditions will cancel this ride. In the event of a cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments section in both the Cascade and Meetup postings, and Ride Leaders may not be at the ride start.

Looking forward to an awesome ride!

Comments

The road and then entire route is paved.  The Middlefork section is some of the nicest smoothest pavement around.

Looks like a great ride. Any place to refill water on the NFD-5600 road?

No water on the route.  Most of the route is however shady and two large bottles have always been enough for me.  Even on a hot day.

Al and I will not be able to ride today.  Sorry to miss it.

Vocalists put a remarkable effort on alone tune that is extremely exceptional. This essay paper service is truly captivating that shows the undertakings and affirmation of the expert in this perspective. We believe that everyone will acknowledge and respect these accumulations.
