Tour de Brunch Rides Again ! I am planning to do a ride in the Tacoma / Gig Harbor area the last Sunday every month - followed by brunch. Credit for this series to Doug Pfeffer, who got me hooked on his Tour de Brunch series last year.
Ride #3 - On the final day the Gig Harbor Wine & Food Experience several restaurants, including bike friendly Millville Pizza, are having Champagne Brunches on Sunday. What a great excuse for a Sunday morning ride up to Olalla followed by brunch!
We'll meet at 8:45am in front of the History Museum in Gig Harbor. If you are coming by car, please park in the museum's parking lot - we have permission to park there and this will be more considerate to the many other visitors who will be looking for street parking later in the day.
Pace is moderate - defined at 14-16 miles per hour on flat terain with no wind. There are some hills - we'll take those at our own paces and regroup after. Rides are going to be more social than training and we'll adjust to slightly slower riders and are perfectly happy to have faster riders who can pace down a bit join us. Please send me a message or post a comment if you are unsure if this is a good ride for you. New riders are especially welcome! If you are new to Cascade Free Group rides, please click on "read our newcomer information" at the top.
Helmets are required for all participants on Cascade Free Group rides. Some other good things to have: a charged cell phone, ID, water and snacks, supplies to fix a flat (spare tube, pump, tire levers) fenders on your bike if roads are wet, front and back lights. Bring a credit card and/or cash, especially if you are staying for brunch. A lock for your bike is also a good idea.
Register for the ride by clicking the red "register now" button. You do not need to be a member of Cascade to register on-line, you merely need to create a free account. Doing this beforehand will save us time at the start and then I will also have your information clearly written on my paperwork.
Cancellation Policy: Steady rain cancels. If the ride is cancelled, the cancellation will be posted in the comments section below before 7am and ride leader will not be at the start
