Looking for some new roads to explore? Join us for a 56-mile, vigorous-paced (19mph) ride through Kitsap County. We'll meet at the Washington State Ferry dock (past the toll booth, at the bicycle queue) for the 8:35am sailing from Seattle to Bremerton. BRING $9.35 for the ferry fee. It's a one-hour crossing to Kitsap through Rich Passage. Our hilly route will take us around Dyes Inlet with some great views of the water and Olympic mountains. Then we'll proceed to Seabeck and ride along the Hood Canal up towards the submarine base at Bangor. From there, we ride through Poulsbo and stop for pastries at the famous Sluys Bakery. Then we proceed along the Liberty Bay waterfront and across the Agate Pass bridge onto Bainbridge Island. We will stay together for this ride, regrouping as needed at the top of the long climbs. Our goal will be to make the 2:05pm sailing from Bainbridge to Seattle, a 35 minute crossing (free in this direction). We'll discuss the route and have our safety brief onboad the ferry in the café. (NOTE: ride leader will be departing from the lower Woodland Park parking lot (near the soccer fields) at 0800 to catch the ferry. It's a 6 mile ride to the dock.) Hope you can join us!
