Join me for a ride from Woodinville to UW/Montlake, then the entire 520 trail to a lunch stop in Redmond, then a counterclockwise loop of Lake Sammamish, and back to start via roads and the Sammamish River Trail. This is a flattish ride, with most of the climbing on the 520 trail. The other trails we'll be on are the Burke Gilman, East Lake Sammamish, and the Cross Marymoor.
The moderate pace means 14-16mph on flat roads without wind. Climb hills at your own pace, and we'll regroup at the top.
No, we won't be doing a lot of city street cycling, but we will pass through the city limits of Woodinville, Bothell, Kenmore, Lake Forest Park, Seattle, Medina, Clyde Hill, Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Issaquah, and Sammamish!
Restrooms at the start are available at City Hall and across the street at Wilmot Gateway Park. Restrooms are also available at lunch.
Riders should be at the start at least 15 minutes early to ready their bikes and hear the safety/route talk, for a prompt 10am rollout.
The route/cue sheet is at the link below. Please download or print it if you want it during the ride.
We will regroup as necessary, but it would be a good idea to take my phone number so you can contact me if you have a problem while off the back.
Fenders with mud flaps are highly recommended and appreciated if the roads are likely to be wet. If you don't have them you may still come on the ride, but if roads are wet enough for you to splatter those behind you, we'll ask you to please ride at the back.
Please bring tools and spare tube in case of flats or minor mechanicals. We'll stop and help, or wait till we know you have a way to get home or back to start if you are unable to complete the ride.
Please register in advance on this website to save time at the start. It's not required, but it's helpful to the ride leader and saves time. You don't have to un-register if you can't make the ride.
In case of cancellation the ride leader will not be at the start and a cancellation notice will be posted in COMMENTS below at least two hours prior to start. Please check for potential cancellation before heading to the ride.
