DESCRIPTION: This is a variation of the classic Seven Hills of Kirkland route, with a start in Log Boom Park instead of Kirkland. We will go up the seven hills, including Norway, King's Gate, Winery, Rose, Market, Juanita, and Holmes Point. In addition to the regular 7 hills, this route includes one extra hill, a gradual 5 mile climb (with a 4.5 mile return along a different route.) You can easily eliminate the extra hill and cut the ride down to the original 40 miles if you want.
Everyone will ride up the hills at their own pace, but we will try and stay together, regrouping at the top and bottom of all the hills.
Route and Cue sheet are available at the Ride with GPS link below
Location: Log Boom Park is located on the northen end of Lake Washington and easily found by your GPS. There are rest rooms at the start.
Parking: Please note there is a 4 hour parking limit at Log Boom Park. So you might want to park on the nearby street rather than the lot, especially if you are planning to do the whole ride.
Start Time: Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the published start time to ready your bike, check in and participate in the safety and ride briefing. We will go over hand signals and what we say during the ride to keep ourselves safe.
REGISTRATION: Please click on the bright red “Register Now” button above to sign up for the ride - it saves time at the start and makes sure I can read your emergency number, just in case. You have to create an account, but you don't have to become a member or pay.
Food/Lunch: The Starbucks at mile 23 will be an official stop. We also have an optional stop at mile 17 (the 132nd Street park) for bathrooms, if needed.
Cancelation: Steady rain cancels the ride. If that happens, it will be announced in the comments section below at least two hours before start time and the Ride Leader will not be at the start.
