Join us for a 21.6 mile, 1400' elevation gain as we bike through the Seattle neighborhoods of Fremont, Phinney Ridge, Greenwood, Bitter Lake, Broadview and Crown Hill, as well as the city of Shoreline. Along the way, we will bike on the Interurban Trail, and see Boeing Creek Park, Carkeek Park and Fremont Peak Park. We will re-group on the tops of all major hills. As it is early in the biking season for some people, the pace for this ride will be moderate on the flat sections and steady on the hill climbs. Afterwards, we'll head to the Nickerson Street Saloon for food, drinks and socializing for those interested.
Please arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.
The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above. I will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information. If you have questions about the weather, please call (or email) before you leave for the ride.

Olympic Drive
I have wanted to ride on Olympic Dr. west of the Seattle Golf club. How do you get past the manned gate onto that private road? (mile 12.9 of your route)
Or through the gate at mile
Or through the gate at mile 10.3 onto Beach Dr.?
Jeff’s comments
Thank you Jeff. I have done most of the route before, but not that section. I was relying on ridewithGPS. Will make a revision on the route in a couple of hours based on your feedback. Very much appreciated!
.
I have not been able to ride into that gated area, so perhaps you will need to route up the stout climb along Innis Arden Way to Greenwood Ave, then turn right onto 145th to re-join your route. I thought maybe you had access.

We have done the Innis Arden climb on many rides in prior years. Not sure for tonight yet. Will have to see when I can use my laptop.
Route updated.
Based on Jeff's comments, I updated the route. The updated ride is a little easier (100'-150' elevation gain less, but we get to climb Innis Arden Hill). I will post the ridewithGPS link on the meetup page as well.
