Join us for an Eastside loop (a variation of the classic "5 cities" tour), including a stretch on the new Redmond Connector, a couple of hills (Newport and Market/Juanita), a roll through Medina, sections of the I-90 and 520 trails, a cruise along the Kirkland waterfront, and coffee at Zoka in downtown Kirkland.

We'll start at the new parking lot at the far east end of 60 Acres park. Sanicans but no water at the start, so come with full water bottles. Planned rest stops at mile 8 and 18, coffee at mile 29, and rest stop at mile 39.

Moderate pace. We'll try to stay together and pause to regroup occasionally, but bring navigation aids in case you find yourself substantially off of group pace and need to finish on your own. We will observe the speed limit on the multi-use trails.

Route map and cue sheet at the Link, below.

Bring tools and knowledge to repair flats, and a plan to get home if needed.

If roads are wet, stable fenders/flaps that extend to within 4" of the ground are recommended (you can ride with less, but you'll be responsible for staying behind everyone who has longer fenders).

Please register in advance on this website to save time at the start. Online registration closes 2 hours before ride start (you can still register manually at the start). Be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early for briefing and ride prep.

In case of cancellation, the ride leader will not be at the start, and notice will be posted here two hours prior; be sure to log in and check "Comments" (below) before heading out (minor route changes, if any, will be noted in "comments" as well)

Comments

Please excuse the misstatement in the ride description, there's no Redmond Connector on this route (join us for WRUMPS on 5-9 to get a Redmond Connector sampler).  Also, the route has been changed slightly; we'll stay on Newport Way to it's end (at Factoria Blvd.) instead of jogging up to SE 36th and riding next to I-90. If you downloaded the RWGPS after 4:45pm on 5/3/18 you have the updated route. The RWGPS link, above, is unchanged and correct.
