Can't think of a better way to celebrate than to ride to one of my favorite bakeries. 57 miles for 57 years and Black Diamond Bakery pastries. Yum! We'll enjoy an eclectic mix of suburban and country roads as we venture from the Newport Hills Park & Ride to Black Diamond, an iconic Seattle cycling destination.

We'll maintain a moderate pace of 14-16 mph on the flats without the benefit or hindrance of wind, slower on ascents and faster on descents. Everyone can climb at their own pace as we'll regroup at the top of hills.

Riders should bring tools and knowledge to repair flats and minor mechanical repairs. It's a good idea to have a back up plan in case of a major mechanical. They happen! Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start in order to prepare yourself and your bike prior to safety briefing.

Long fenders are highly recommended if roads are wet or the forecast calls for the possibility of rain. This is for the comfort and safety of your fellow riders as well as yourself. No fenders means you are content to ride in the back of the group.

No public restrooms or water at the start so please come prepared. In addition to hydration, an ample snack is encouraged as we will take optional rest stops as needed.

Registration: Please register for the ride by clicking on red Register Now button. This saves time at the start and there is no need to unregister should you find you are unable to ride. You do not need to a CBC account to register, but it does speed up the process.

Route: A Ride With GPS route is available at the link below. Please download route to your GPS device or print a cuesheet.

Cancellation: Should weather conditions call for a cancellation day of ride, a cancellation notice will be posted in the comment section below two hours prior. If weather is questionable please check here before leaving for start. Ride leader will not be at the start if weather cancels.
