SLOW Ride to Art in the Central District

Ride SLOW with Senior Ladies on Wheels to explore Art for All in the Central District - art in all sorts of publicly accessible places, from parks to community centers to cafes to libraries. All riders of all ages and identies welcome, as long as you ride SLOW!  We'll follow traffic-free trails and low-traffic neighborhood streets, and we avoid the steepest hills - but there's no shame in getting off and walking a block or two.  We'll break for lunch along the way.  The slowest rider sets the pace - don't worry, we won't hurry!  Rain won't cancel, but may lead to a shorter ride.

This is Cascade Bicycle Club Free Group Ride. It's a social ride with experienced ride leaders to grow your confidence with group riding. It is free and open to everyone. The route consists of beautiful trails, a few low-traffic streets, and scenery.

"Easy Pace" is under 10 mph on flat surface without any headwind. Average walking speed is around 3 mph, so we will be about 3 times faster!. If you aren't sure about your pace, please join us anyway. We will help you find your way back if you need to return to the start early. Carrying ORCA card is another good option.

You should dress appropriately for the weather, but you do not need spandex or other specialized bike gear. All you need is a working bike and a helmet. If you haven't ridden your bike for quite some time, please do a ABC Check (link below) or take it to your local bike shop a few days prior to the ride date.

Please arrive 20 minutes before the published start time to ready your bike, check in and participate in the safety and ride briefing. We will go over hand signals and what we say during the ride to keep outselves safe.

Register -Follow the link to register and sign and e-waiver. . If you do not have an account with Cascade, it is free to create an account. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to unregister. If you do not register, you will need to sign a paper waiver before the ride.

Weather - Rain will not cancel the ride, but we may choose a shorter route if weather is especially unpleasant. The ride leader will be at the start regardless of the weather to negotiate with those who show up. Snow and ice cancel.
