LUMPs Matthews Beach Seattle - Pie ride Northend

PIE RIDE: Leisurely Urbane Matthewsbeach Pedalers: We will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail to the North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) in Bothell, just beyond Blyth Park near Bothell. We take a pie break at NSSC. A variety of homemade pies with ice cream, whip cream and coffee are available for each rider to purchase at a reasonable price. We will be there for about 30 to 60 minutes, use the restrooms if needed and then return to Matthews Beach. Helmets and a functioning bicycle are required.
Route: Come, have fun, converse and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman Trail. The terrain is flat.
Pace: We will ride a steady pace at 12 to 14 mph.
Cue sheets: No cue sheets provided. Stay together ride.
Lights: This is not an after dark ride; you don't need a headlight or a tail light, but these are still short days, so if you anticipate some darkness riding come appropriatley equipped.
Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry or be the caboose.
Ride start: Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the liability waiver and hear the safety briefing. Water and restrooms are available at the start. Be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire.
Register: Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of this page (right below the ride title) and enter your information. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to unregister.
Parking: Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. Arrive early to beat the sea gulls for a good parking spot.
Weather cancellation: - Showers, snow, icy conditions or more severe weather will cancel the ride. Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments section at least two hours before start time and the ride leader(s) will not be at the start.
