Ride the entire 520 trail from Montlake to Redmond. This moderate paced ride is a re-post of the route that was rain cancelled last Monday. We'll head from Log Boom Park in Kenmore to Montlake, cross the 520 bridge, continue on the trail to a mid-ride lunch stop in Redmond, then wind our way to and up Education Hill, and return to Log Boom via Woodinville. The first 13+ miles are mostly flat, after which there's some climbing on the 520 trail, out of Redmond, and up Education Hill. We'll regroup as needed, including at the top of the climbs.
Weather: Forecast for rain, snow, ice/frost or other unsafe riding conditions will be cause for cancellation, in which case the ride leader will not be at the start and the cancellation will be posted (in Comments, below) at least 2 hours before the start.
Full fenders and mud flaps are highly recommended and appreciated if showers are possible or the roads are wet.
There are restrooms at the start and the lunch stop. There is a 4-hour parking restriction at Log Boom Park. If you are concerned it might be enforced, you can park on NE 175th St heading into the park.
The RWGPS route/cue sheet is at the link below. Please download or print it if you want it, as it will not be handed out at the ride.
Please come with the equipment and know-how to take care of your own flats and mechanicals (or with a plan for getting back to the start if your bike won't take you there). Please be at the start and ready to ride at least 15 minutes early for the safety talk so we can roll out promptly at 10.
You can save time at the start by pre-registering here up to two hours before the start. Make sure you are logged into your CBC account (you don't have to be a member to have an account), click on REGISTER NOW, check the waiver box, and you're good to go. You don't have to un-register if you don't make it to the ride.
