Join me for a midweek ride from Auburn to the popular Black Diamond Bakery. This route, to the Black Diamond Bakery, is a favorite with cyclist. We start in Auburn with a nice 5 mile warm up on the valley floor before we begin our 4.5 mile climb up to the Black Diamond plateau. At the top we ride an additional 5 plus miles to our rest stop at the bakery where we will stop for a 20 minute break before returning.
Fenders with buddy flap required if rain is in the forecast.
Must be able to maintain 15 mph on the flat road, we regroup on the top of hills.
Restroom inside Wal-Mart at the start, and at mile 14.3 at our rest stop at the Black Diamond Bakery.
New riders are welcome, but please review link below. Riders should be able to maintain the pace and know how to change a flat tire (and carry the equipment to do so).
Come prepared to fix flats and have a plan for dealing with mechanical issues. Generally the group will not wait for flats/mechanical issues so make sure you know the route or have printed a CUE sheet.
Please register for the ride by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page, click the waiver release box, complete the Emergency Contact Number, and click on Save. By doing this you will save time at the ride start. If you are unable to attend you do not need to "un-register."
**For mentoring opportunity, please contact the Ride Leader at least two days in advance so that you have time to familiarize yourself with the route and discuss any route issues and raise any other questions.
