Vashon! We'll meet at the ferry dock near Point Defiance (Tacoma) at 9:45am to take the 10:05am ferry (ferry schedule linked below) to Tahlequah (the south end of the Island). Crossing time is about 15 minutes. We'll ride some hills and stop at Snapdragon Bakery at around mile 16. Then some more hills and lovely views and back to the ferry. Ride with GPS route map is linked below - you can download it or print a cue sheet from it if you like. From experience, I am certain that I will not be the fastest hill climber - we will be regrouping at the tops and bottoms of hills.
Please register for the ride by clicking on the red button at the top of the page. You do not need to be a Cascade member to register on-line, you merely need to create a free account. (see link below). Newcomers are welcome! Please read the "information for newcomers" linked above.
All participants on Cascade Free Group rides must wear a helmet. The ferry ride for rider and bike costs just under 7$, so be sure to have some way to pay for that (they accept credit cards) and also some funds for Snapdragon. Other items to have: ID, a charged cell phone, spare tube, tire levers, pump or CO2 cartridge, other items to handle minor mechanical issues, water, snacks, fenders if it is at all wet on the roads, front and back lights.
Cancellation/Delay Policy: Rain and also cold, icy roads will cancel or possibly delay the ride. Cancellations or changes to the start time will be posted in the comments section below before 7:45am. Please check here before leaving for the ride. Ride leader will not be at the start if a cancellation is posted.
