Regret that his ride has had to be cancelled.
This ride is a mash up of the last parts of Bike for Pie on B.I. and Chilly Hilly. We'll be meeting up at the Bike Barn near the ferry terminal on Bainbridge at around 10:10 am. If you are coming by ferry from Seattle, please take the one that leaves at 9:35am. Ride leader will not be on the ferry but will meet you at the Bike Barn for introductions, pre-ride talk and waiver sign off. The route takes us along the southern part of the island, featuring views of Kitsap Peninsula and Seattle across the water. There will be hills - we'll take them at our own paces and regroup after. There will also be a few miles of flat road as we approach and go through Fort Ward State Park, a part of the island that the Chilly Hilly ride bypasses. Blackbird Bakery is less than half a mile from the Ferry Dock, so if you have some time, you could do a lot worse than sticking around for coffee and baked goods.
Please register for the ride by using the "Register Now" button at the top of the page. You can sign the waiver at the ride start, but it will save us time if you register on-line at least two hours before the ride start time. You do not need to be a member of Cascade to register on-line, you just need to create an account. There is no cost to create an account. If you register and your plans change, there is no need to "unregister". If you are not there at the start time, we'll assume you are not coming.
New riders are always welcome. If you are new to Cascade free group rides, please read our newcomer information (link above). Please note: helmets are required on all Cascade rides. Other strongly recommended items to bring with you: water, snacks, a spare tube, tire levers and anything else needed to change a flat tire, a charged cell phone, ID, a credit card and some cash. If roads are wet, please have fenders on your bike.
The ride with GPS link below has the route map that you can download and cue sheets that can be printed. Please print a cue sheet if you would like one.
Cancellation Policy: Steady rain cancels - if needed, a weather cancellation will be posted in the Comments sections below two hours prior to the ride start time and the ride leader will not be at the start location. If the weather is questionable, please check here before leaving for the ride.
