Join us for this late afternoon through early evening ride from Wilmot Gateway Park* to the Cascade Bicycling Center in Magnuson Park for the Cascade Bicycling Club annual membership meeting - the new executive director, Richard Smith, will be presenting a short overview of CBC's accomplishments and future directions. We will depart at 3pm from the pergola in Wilmot Park next to the trail to ride the Sammamish River Trail and Burke-Gilman Trail at a low moderate pace and plan to arrive shortly before the festivities begin at 4pm. The Ride Leader is planning to depart no later than 5:45pm to return to Wilmot Gateway. Those who elect to stay later will be returning on their own. Headlights and tail-lights are required for this ride as the daylight will be rapidly decreasing during our return. Since we will be on multi-use trails, we will also want to be good ambassadors for cycling and considerate of other trail users. Rain will not cancel this ride so come prepared for whatever rain October rolls in for us!
More details about the meeting itself can be found at https://www.cascade.org/2017-annual-membership-meeting
Riders should be able to address mechanical issues for their bikes and have appropriate supplies and equipment to handle flats, etc. Due to the meeting schedule issues, we will need to keep the group moving.
Cue sheets will not be provided but you can prepare one if you need it from the route information provided below.
Other hazardous conditions beyond just rain may cancel the ride. If the ride is canceled due to hazardous conditions, the notice will be posted here in the comments section below, and on the Meetup announcement page two hours prior to the start time on the day of the ride. If that notice is posted, the ride leader will not be at the start.
