Saturday Morning Rides in Snohomish County #3
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Invitation: This fall we will check out the the beauty of Snohomish County again and enjoy riding together with other year-around cyclists! The routes for the Steady and Moderate paces are about 35-40 miles. The routes for Brisk and Vigorous are a bit longer and/or have more elevation. The rides start are at a different place each week so that we can ride on some roads that are less traveled.
Where to find us today: We will meet at Willis Park near the entrance on the right.
Steady/Moderate Route: 36.8 miles with about 2,199 ft elevation (per RWGPS). There is an easy option to avoid a steeper, 360 ft section of the route. Rest rooms at the start. Food stop at mile 17.9
Brisk/Vigorous Route: 39.9 miles with about 2,311 ft elevation (per RWGPS). There is an easy option to avoid a steeper, 360 ft section of the route. Rest rooms at the start. Food stop at mile 17.9
Route: Time to see some industry of Snohomish County. To name a few: A cement plant, your Campbell soup, Boeing and Fluke with some big volume buildings, and of course Starbucks. But there are also nice neighborhoods, lakes and a safe trail to cross I-5.
Cue-sheets are not provided; please print your copy.
Registration: Your registration on this website is appreciated; all you'll have to do at the start of the ride is check off your name. You don't need to be a member of the club, but you do have to create an account.
Expectations (important, please read!): Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the ride to check off your name or sign the waiver and be part of the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the posted pace. We regroup occasionally. Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group and bring a charged cellphone if possible. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain or other unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled, it will be posted by 7:00 am in the comment section. In that case the ride leaders will not be at the start.
