MUMPS: Eclipse Ride, Woodinville to Mukilteo (Moderate Pace)

  • Attendance at the pre-ride safety briefing is required to participate in the ride.
  • If you have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, follow the quarantine and isolation guidelines. In general, if you have COVID or are displaying COVID symptoms, or if you are sick with the flu or a cold, you should not participate in group rides.
  • Carry a face covering in case a business or public transit requires their use.
  • Please, no spitting or “snot-rockets” while participating.
  • A CPSC certified helmet is required to be worn to participate.

Note the new MUMPS starting point, Woodinville Sports Fields. Restrooms are available across the street at Wilmot Gateway Park. Riders should be at the start at least 15 minutes early for safety/route talk, for a prompt 10am rollout.

This is a moderate pace (14-16mph) version of MUMPS. This week's ride heads north to Everett and then to a lunch stop at the Red Cup Cafe in Mukilteo, and back to Woodinville. Yes, we'll be riding during the solar eclipse, but at its "darkest" at 93% it will still be brighter than many of our winter days. We'll start with several miles on the BG Trail and Kenmore back roads to avoid drivers gawking at the sky.

We will regroup frequently, including at the top of hills, but it would be a good idea to have my phone number so you can contact me if you have a problem while off the back.

Please bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and be prepared to take care of flats or minor mechanicals, and have a way to get yourself home or back to start in case you are unable to complete the ride.

Please register in advance on this website to save time at the start. You don't have to un-register if you can't make the ride.

In case of cancellation the ride leader will not be at the start and a cancellation notice will be posted in COMMENTS below at least two hours prior to start.
